Silent on the Moor is the second Deanna Raybourn book I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lady Julia Grey is a fascinating Victorian woman, an original. Her hero, Brisbane, is just as unusual. The events and characters unfold page by page, event by event in rich and unexpected twists and turns. I must get the first in the series, Silent in the Grave and the latest Dark Road to Darjeeling . Deanna Raybourn has a strong voice and a beautiful way with words. I was in San Francisco in 2008 when she won the RITA for her first novel and it was well-deserved. Bravo again, Deanna!
