Loved the book, though the constant timeskips were confusing at times (and part of that confusion between childhood and adulthood is surely intentional).

The kind of evil that runs through Derry sadly doesn't require anything supernatural. And King realizes this, there's plenty of purely human evil, husbands who beat their wives, parents who abuse their children, teachers who know but are too scared of losing their jobs to do anything about it, just the depiction of a town that sees all these things happening and just doesn't seem to give a damn is one of the most haunting things, all the more so because it can and does happen in the real world.

Some scenes were just out of place and disturbing for reasons entirely unrelated to the story.
