Looking at the picture of Cupcake on the inside back cover does not give you any indication that this is a woman who's been to hell and back. Her story is one of the most shocking I've ever read. I just can't get my head around those things happening. She was a child who was failed by the people who were supposed to protect her. Soical services, the police and even her real father. She was used and abused. Drink and drugs made her feel better. Turning tricks helped her get the money she needed. She does some pretty awful things while she's on drugs but the main person she hurt was herself. Luckly she gets help and manages to get her life back together. It's really great reading about how she sorts her self out. Quiet an inspirational story. At the end of the book, she tells us about what happens to the other people in her life. This bit is upsetting becuase although a lot of her friends made it out, a few didn't. What an awful waste of a life. A really good read.
