I really wanted to give this 4 stars, because I love the characters - esp. Tara! - and the breezy, light-hearted, sarcastic writing style. But I kept getting distracted by the terribly sloppy editing. If the trial takes place 6 weeks after the arrest, then why has the jury spent the past 3 months avoiding media coverage? If the trial takes place in September (at the beginning of football season), then why are the Knicks playing in a play-off game at the time of the arrest (6 wks. earlier, in July); I know the NBA season is long, but not quite *that* long! And why, oh why, if the prosecutor refers to the victim being "shot in the back of the head" during the opening statement, does all the testimony center around the single gunshot wound to the chest that killed him??? I've noticed the overlapping sports seasons in the other books and managed to shrug them off, but this is getting a bit ridiculous!!
