really liked it
bookshelves: anthologies, fantasy-sci-fi, covers-i-like, borders-clearance

I of course got this primarily for the same reason most people will buy it - the Patricia Briggs story!! Which was excellent, as I'd hoped, and threw additional light on matters in Alpha and Omega and the related series about Mercy Thompson.

Apart from that I also had a very positive overall impression of this, which is I think my first UF/PNR anthology. The P.N. Elrod story was very entertaining, and I enjoyed the one by Faith Hunter so much I expect I'll go looking for more works by her. Some of the others verged on sloppy. Imprecise word choice really bothers me, as it denotes a small vocabulary. But I also enjoyed the stories by Rachel Caine and Jenna Maclaine quite a bit and may seek out more by them as well. Always the real reason to get an anthology: to find new authors you may like! Considering that I ate this up first night inside my house in one sitting, I'd say it is a pretty awesome lineup of stories.
