Continuing with the Lippman oeuvre, this is not a highlight.

The action moves to San Antonio, which is a nice change of pace, but it turns out that San Antonio is just like Baltimore with Mexican food!

I'm figuring out Lippman's go-to plot moves, and it got annoying in this book.

1) The bad guy is going to be someone close enough to the action to have information on Tess's movements, but far enough away that you never see it coming.

2) Tess will make lots of assumptions that are (nudge nudge wink wink) never exactly confirmed in the text. Every time she says "like that time you came to my hotel room" right before en explosion prevents confirmation of that assumption, I cringe.

A totally competent mystery, but not her best. Hopefully number five will be a rebound!
