really liked it
bookshelves: 2011, fiction
Read in March, 2011

Picture a better-written Twilight in which a) the heroine is a non-practicing witch, b) the hero is a nowhere-near-as-broody-as-Edward vampire, and c) they are both ACADEMICS at OXFORD. That's all my buttons, right there.

Cicely I'd wait a year or two on this one. I liked it, but HELLO! It's the first in a trilogy! So annoyed that I didn't know that before I started, it totally leaves you hanging.

Too late for me, I inhaled the book before I knew that! Grrr. Really good, though.
