Walter Mosley is a great writer. The simplicity of his writing belies the emotional impact of his central character, Easy Rawlins. The character is so well developed that one feels he is exists. The first person narrative is rich in a voice true to its roots. The plot while not dissimilar to many other crime novels moves swiftly and holds one's interest throughout. Recommended for an enjoyable read.
