I just finished reading this with my 7 year old daughter and we loved it. There are so many clever plot points and she was able to get a lot of the inside jokes. The story is about a young boy named Alcatraz who has the unfortunate luck to break everything. He is passed around from foster family to faster family until his myseterious grandpa Smedry shows up on his 13th birthday and he finds that his "Curse" is really a gift.
This book is a must read for kids and adults alike. Brandon's sence of humor kept us laughing page after page.
