I'm actually reading The Stand: Expanded Edition that came out a couple of years ago. So far, I love this book. It's scary to think that this virus spread so quickly. When I started reading and people started dying in the first part of the book, I was on a plane to Houston and these people just started coughing. I started freaking out, because I wondered if they had the Stand virus and if I was going to die now.

I love how Stephen King just gets you so into a character for a short period of a time and then in the end of the chapter, he writes that the character sniffles (which means death). The only problem right now is that there are so many characters and he jumps around them like a ball (mainly because they have not intertwined just yet...saw the movie, so I know it happens), which makes it hard to remember who is who and where they are in the story.

Otherwise, I'm captivated.

Payden i feel sorry for you that you had to see that sad excuse for a movie BEFORE the book, but keep reading! the ending to the book is one of kings best. (in the expanded one)

Kristi Yeah, it's an issue, because it came on recently and I watched briefly. Those actors/actresses are what I see when I read now. And they aren't what I pictured. I also saw the Shining movie and loved Jack. However, once I read the book, I hated the movie.

Payden most movies ruin the books.
