Off Season

The writing was descriptive... enjoyable, but the story-line was just too sad for me. I like books that are exciting, adventurous or romantic, ones that take me away from my everyday life. If I want to hear about people dying I can turn on the news and hear about it incessantly. So even though this was interesting to see how one might cope with deaths during one's lifetime I didn't find it captivating. I agree with another reader's comment in that the ending was strange and left to interpretation. I chose to make it what the book should have been about all along - being with the one person who would have made her life blissful and complete. There is some hard language - the "f" bomb was used a half dozen times and another dozen or so swear words too. Plus there are a few sexual scenes that I would not want anyone under 21 reading, even though each one is only two or so lines long.
