** spoiler alert ** I really want to like this book more than I did. It has been given so many great reviews that it just has to be great, right? I'm not sure. It's good, definitely. I think I just wanted more from it. Anyway, this story of an autistic boy in England figuring out the mystery of who killed the neighbor's dog. But then, as novels do, it turns into him figuring out the mystery of his life. I do really like how this book is not about our narrator, Christopher, being autistic. He's solving this mystery. He's living his life. And he happens to be autistic. Haddon does a great job with this.

I think the ending seems a bit flat, but given our narrator, perhaps it has to be that way. I think this might be a book I appreciate more after a few weeks than I do right after finishing it. I guess we'll see in a few weeks!
