Excellent book.
I have never ever ever ever been interested in vampires. But this book is hilarious. It is actually quite believable. It takes place in San Francisco, so it is great to read about areas I am familiar with.
Jody wakes up in a dumpster in the Tenderloin (ahh!) to find herself changed into a vampire. She is having a terrible time adjusting to her new life; she can't go to work, she can't go to the bank, she can't go shopping, etc. She decides she needs a minion to help her while she sleeps during the day. She meets C. Thomas Flood, as aspiring writer from a small town. He is looking for excitment and literary fame in San Francisco. He agrees to help Jody and of course, falls in love with her.
I know it is strange to call this book "believable," but it truly is! You would have to read it to understand what I mean. It is a classic love story, just between a guy and a dead chick. It is funny and sweet. I really, really liked it.
When I read the end, I almost jumped for joy; it was obvious to me that there would be a sequel. I felt like it took FOREVER, but finally, I got my hands on You Suck.
