Meh...it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, just a good story. I didn't realize when I picked it up that it was the second in a series about Hannah Vogel and there is enough back story that I don't think I need to read the first one.

If I came across another one at the library I would read it...but it would be okay if I didn't read it too. I thought it would have more history but it was pretty much just moderate suspense set in the past

Bob I'm not surprised at your review. I'd read the first and had the same reaction. I thought perhaps I was too critical because I read so much WWII fiction. When this one came out, my feeling was I wouldn't bother and you've reinforced that. Still, there were moments in the book that have stuck with me, mostly having to do with life in Berlin at the time, which I find especially fascinating, being able to see how the "other side" lived and what they endured.
