While I much preferred Junot Dìaz's full-length novel, these stories definitely reflected his creative use of Spanish language and the straight-forward tone of voice even while dealing with issues facing immigrants. The collection connects two very different locales and mainstreams immigrant life. All in all, a must read even if just for the beautiful use of two languages.
