Very interesting book that could almost be a 'cozy read' except that it deals with the heavy subject of grief of a young wife. This author dropped in all kinds of themes that are clearly important to her: organic food, Fair Trade, Christian outreach (though this is definitely not Christian Fiction), government failure in regards to Hurricane Katrina), need for a circle of friends, need for early medical detection, and more. Well written, contemporary novel with an emphasis on cooking and friends.
