I started reading Anne of Green Gables and found out that there were more of L.M. Montgomery’s books about Anne. So I wanted to read more. I have currently read 3 of Montgomery’s books out of the Anne of Green Gables series.
Anne being the red headed freckle face that she is has loads of imagination to go with her wild hair. She always has a twinkle in her grey eyes that cannot be explained but it is loved by all. Some people say she is plain so people say she is elegant but all in all no one can but her in a pacific category.
The book is perfect for the person who loves imagination with a little twist of romance and daily life troubles. This story is set back around 1900 on the little Prince Edward Island in Canada. Anne is 16 and almost an adult for that time but still has an imagination of a child.
She becomes a school teacher but meanwhile is meeting new people, discovering almost magical gardens and planning weddings. This all goes on in one 16 year old girl’s life with her wild imagination.
This book should appeal to younger teen girls. If they like drama, poetry, little twist of romance, tons of imagination and day to day life struggles. You should enjoy this book thoroughly. If you like this book more than I did you should go on to read the rest of Montgomery’s series Anne of Green Gables for more of Anne’s life full of adventure and imagination.
