One of the best books I've read in a long time!! A young girl struggles to understand life in 1899 as her mother tries to make a young lady out of her while her grandfather introduces her to science and the real world. Her dream becomes to go to the university and be a scientist but at the time that is controversial. This story is very well-written and encourages young girls to not let things limit what they want to do in life. I hope to find other books like this soon!!
