It was fun, at first, to read an early Harry Bosch, when he's more ornery and defiant than in later episodes. But it was heavy on the action, and light on the introspection so it got kind of bland by about 1/2 way through. Falling in love instantly with the dead cop's widow was a bit juvenile.
