I believe this is my first Patterson novel and I loved it! Not only are the 'Thriller' elements topnotch, I enjoyed the spin he put on the characters.

Detective Michael Bennett is a widowed father raising ten kids, with a little help from his grandpa and their live-in nanny, the fabulous Irish-born Mary Catherine. Reading about his kids' antics and watching Bennett's personal life gave this novel extra depth and realism.

The psycho serial killer is never far from the focus here, and this guy has a real evil streak. I'm not going put in any spoilers, but the things he does and some of the victims he chooses might just give you nightmares.

This book is a great read, so great it kept up pretty late at night because I kept wanting to see what happened next. I see many, many Patterson novels on my bookshelf in the future.
