This was a choice for my book group. I wasn't sure if I had read it before because I had seen it as a play and was quite familiar with the storyline. If I read it before, it would have been while I was quite young (12-15) and I ddin't recall that Stowe was a preachy as she was. It was easy to see why this book caused such a stir prior to the Civil War since it's depiction of slave life is appalling. It is interesting as an historical document, but I didn't enjoy reading it.
