The four stars acknowledge the honesty of the writing rather than quality. An engaging read,I was impressed with Mason's "cutting of the vein" and letting the story bleed onto the pages. The memoir progresses perfectly through the youthful naiveté of warrior to the aftereffect of combat. The last sixth pages are brutally for real. I have infinite respect for this author.
