Read in December, 2010

A delightful, charming, and informative story set in 17th century England that provided a magical escape into an intriguing story of a woman entranced by the lady slipper flower who will defy anything and anyone in order to have it to sketch and propagate. Important history is learned but not at the expense of making the character and characters secondary. I will re-read this novel again and I am eager to read more from this new novelist.
