This was an amazing read. The author adresses what is sadly still a somewhat taboo subject: what happens to our bodies after we die? She does so with a frank inquiring mind and a tounge-in-cheek narration that allows us to gain insight while laughing at absurdity. The book covers a wide range of what can happen to our 'earthly shell', including historical backgrounds, and ending with a look at some of the most recent developments in the business of dealing with dead bodies. a joy to read, thought provoking and question answering.

Definitely recommend this to those with enquiring minds (but non-squeamish stomachs), an interest in biology or things of a morbid bent, and fans of Six Feet Under!
