really liked it

I was pleased to find this debut novel and her sophomore title featuring the same main character, Sarah Pribek, on a recent library visit. The story was good and the characters interesting to get to know.

What was especially a treat was Compton's stellar writing; she has a beautiful knack with the language that makes reading her books a pleasure. Also enjoyable is Compton's creation of Pribek, who is not a knight-in-shining-armor protagonist. Pribek has flaws and makes mistakes and has some serious personal baggages, but through it all, she is trying to do what is right.
