This is a unique little gem that might not be for everyone. Although it is quite different from Lowry's other books, I loved it! The audiobook was good fun to listen to. It was quick (only 2 1/2 hours) and the narrator did a great job with the various character's voices.

Hildegard, the older mouse matron of two hundred-some mice living in a church, is trying to hold together the clan through trials and tribulations. First the "Great X" comes (the exterminator), which leads to some of the most inventive ideas EVER thought of by a mouse character. Then, it's "The Blessing of the Animals" day at the church and the skies look overcast, which could mean.... CATS inside the church! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would reccomend it to anyone who loves "Desperaux" (although with a caveat that it is about religion, so reccomend it cautiously).
