3.5/5 stars...

This is a quick, fast-paced, very lightweight read. It's scifi but not space-opera stuff. It's a thriller. The hero is square jawed, competent. The love interest is hot, Russian, and playfully sexy. There is a sense of humour in the tone. In short, it's perfectly produced, playful pulp fiction. Entertaining light reading. Nothing more. Mills & Boon for men.

(It does rely heavily on a few coincidences, and some of the plot developments seem to make no sense in terms of the characters involved, so it doesn't earn 4 stars)
