This is the first book in the Southern Spirits series and features Ezekial "Zeke" Mathers and Brendon Shanahan. Zeke is a "broken" man. He was the victim of a viscous, hate-based, attack years back and it's left him a broken man, unable to trust any of the towns people. He's become a recluse on his ranch, only interacting and trusting the few people he works with. But his cousin and a friend set him up with Brendon Shanahan, who has seen Zeke's picture and knows all about him before he meets him. Sparks fly immediately and they have sex within I'd say, 20 minutes of meeting each other. I mean, seriously, this one takes the "insta-love" concept to a whole new level! But if you are able to suspend belief long enough to get past that, it's an entertaining story. There are no real surprises. You always know who the bad guy is that is causing Zeke so much trouble and she gets her comeuppance in the end. The paranormal aspect with Zeke's mom's ghost was interesting but I can understand Brendon being a little bit creeped out too. This is one book that is very heavy on the sex. So of course I'm not complaining. LOL! Your eReader/book will be melting from all the sex, so be forewarned if that is not your thing. I'm looking forward to reading the second book because I liked the sheriff that was introduced in this story and would really like to read more about him. Overall, not a gripping story for me, but it was entertaining, and I love all the smexin' ;oD
