it was amazing
bookshelves: coming-of-age, 1970s
Read from April 26 to May 03, 2011

This is a pitch-perfect addition to one of my favorite genres: growing up in the 1970's. Read this, Jill McCorkle's Ferris Beach, and Margaret Sartor's Miss American Pie, and you'll feel like you're fourteen again (in a good way). The author's autobiography The Boys of My Youth, which came out in 1998, is also fantastic.

Heather I love coming-of-age stories set in the 60s & 70s. Have you read Aurelie Sheehan's History Lesson for Girls? The reason I want to read In Zanesville is because it sounds a lot like Sheehan's novel, which I loved. (Please excuse me for not italicizing book titles. Someone needs to teach me how to do that on Goodreads!)
