So finished this book while in the hair salon for an embarrasing number of hours and this book passed the time and entertained me but didnt wow me, make me smile or chuckle, or feel anything but anxious to know what happened and finish it... and I was sad about that..Okay so the plot involves a confessions writer whose husband has been missing for the past seven years and she's been dealing with it as well as she can, dating, writing and even maintaining a semi-relationship with her missing husband's friend however as her husband's financial contributions and her income fail to cut it and her home is threating to go into foreclosure she decides to file her husband as legally dead...she then receives a blackmail note. The note requests she pay $2000 if she wants to learn where her husband is..following this note her house is broken into, she is almost assaulted by a rattlesnake, her semi-boyfriend is murdered and everything seems to be going wrong for her. The mystery was intriguing I admit because I really wanted to learn who was behind it all however I didnt care for the "sassy" protagonist, I felt her humor and ironic perceptions were forced and unreal and I didnt like her. The conclusion however was satisfying I appreciated the suspenseful buildup and never saw the culprit coming. The mystery was decent so it is recommended just not memorable for me..
