Italian Shoes

I have an intense dislike for this book lol. Or at least I did when I started it. I cant lie...it literally took me like 4 weeks to get through 50 pages. Then I came and read some of the reviews and I decided to dedicate myself to finishing it in a timely fashion...lets face it, it had to get better because it sure wasnt getting any worse lol. That being said, it DID get better but I think it was a case of too little too late. There was not a character that I could really empathize with in the book, I honestly hated them all and thought they were terribly flawed. Oh and maybe Im just not smart enough...or the author wanted me to think I wasnt smart enough but Im having difficulty finding any meaning in the ant hill in his dining room. At one point I did find something that resounded with me enough that I actually quoted it on my facebook page. I did like when he compared himself to the boat under the tarp and stated that he had neglected the boat shamefully, much the way he had neglected himself and his healing over the years and that he would never be able to repair the boat until he repaired himself. I'm glad I finished the book...but honestly I dont think I got much out of it.
