Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board

Was a little bummed about this book. Bethany talked a lot about how her faith has gotten her through the shark attack experience, and then she said she wanted to write the book so she could show other people how to have faith and so it would let her talk about how she was strengthened by it. But that same line of thinking was repeated over and over in the book. Not that I get tired talking about faith or anything, but I wanted to hear more about the shark. For instance, she says it snuck up on her and she didn't see it until the last second. No one else saw it. But she said she knew how long it was and what kind of shark, and then they had a picture of the shark, caught, and hanging from one of those big scales. They said that was for sure the shark because the teeth were an exact match. I wanted to know more about this. Why did they decide to catch the shark? Who was in charge of this? How long after the attack was the shark caught? How did they match the teeth -- to the surfboard? Because I don't see how they could match them to her arm. Seriously I wanted to know if they cut open the shark's stomach and found her arm in there.... you know like those alligator stories you hear when they eat golfers? Anyway, strong girl, great story, but not at all what I wanted out of this book.

I just bought this book and Im dissapointed I won't hear more about the shark scene. If you go see the movie they actualy held the board up to the sharks mouth after it was cought. What I want to know is: Did they kill the shark before they knew it was the right one?
