A very disjointed book, almost as though each "Part" could have been its own novella. The characters are not those you'd like to get to know and it was a lot of ongoing drama/drudgery (odd combination I know) with the final explanation in a few pages. It just didn't give me enough to keep reading and hence why it took me a long time to finish. Equally so I am surprised to find there are more with the lead character in as it didn't give sufficient to entice but leave the reader wanting to so they would read another book. Maybe the next gets better but I won't bother trying it.
