"Detours" wasn't too bad. (I didn't hold out a whole lot of hope after reading the other Goodreads review of the book.) The author isn't someone that I can relate to on a personal level. The thing that I found compelling about the book was his description of being on the road. They are very similar to what I have personally experienced. His descriptions of the Sturgis motorcycle rally did not inspire me to want to go there. As a matter of fact, I think the last place I would want to be would be the Black Hills of South Dakota anywhere in the timeframe of the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

Laela I hope this isn't a "how to" book.

If it is, remember that you are the one who brought it to me.
