I struggled on giving this book 3 or 4 stars. When I scrolled over which each one meant, I knew that I just couldn't give it a 'really like it.'The book is very good in as you will more than likely read something and then read it over again 4x's just because it had some significance to your life and you really appreciate the words.
Like some others have mentioned here in the beginning and the middle there were several points where I just said ouloud 'got it, you've mentioned this before that last 3 chapters. Got it, can we move on, please?!' So, some of the book was a bit redunant. I purchased this book while seeing her on Oprah as most of us have. And I have found, at least in this book, that she is more capable of inspiring people with her voice and not really in her text. I didn't feel who I saw on Oprah translate to the book. I was really looking forward to having a moving experience. Maybe I really just set myself up for something that just isnt possible from reading a book?
My favorite parts were probably parts of the middle to end and for sure the last 7 chapters. You could just feel like you were in the final stretch and you were not given really any information that had been mentioned before. I cried a few times near the end and really connected with it after the middle half. I am happy that I stuck with it.
I would suggest this book to some avid followers of Iyanla but not someone really looking for a step by step book on how to get out of the rut of life..this book will just not give you that.
