"Aimee Leduc felt his presence before she saw him. As if ghosts floated in his wake in the once elegant hall."
With those two sentences, the author had me hooked! In "Murder In The Marais", Cara Black introduces the reader to female private investigator Aimee Leduc, the sassy, sexy and highly motivated protagonist in her "Aimee Leduc Investigations" series.
"Murder In The Marais" is a taut, well-written thriller, guaranteed to bring sleepless nights to the reader. Set in the late-twentieth century, in the Jewish quarter of Paris, Aimee sets out to track down and bring to justice the murderer of an old Jewish woman who survived the horrors of World War II Paris and the Nazi occupation, barely escaping Hitler's "final solution", only to be murdered in her own bed.
And, what price will Aimee pay for stirring up the ghosts of a half century ago?
"Murder In The Marais" is a must read. I promise... you will not be disappointed!
