really liked it
Read in December, 2007

I put off reading FABLES for quite some time, skipping the single issues and not paying much attention to the trades. On a whim, I picked up the first two volumes, and I'm really glad I did. Here we have a world where the creatures and characters of fairy tales and folklore have been driven from their homelands to dwell in the modern world. Writer Bill Willingham does a terrific job of reinterpreting the characters, and it's nice to see the literary heroes from my earliest days of reading in new and unusual situations. This first collection features a murder mystery--Who Killed Rose Red. A very entertaining read.
