It was cute. Very heartwarming in a "Seventh Heaven" kind of way. The best of humanity revealed through the experience of finding a 9-pound puppy. An enjoyable pick-me-up read, even if it seems like the writer conveniently forgot to mention all shades of negativity, leading to a kind of unrealistic picture of the world, or this little rich town. But we're not here to judge, just to bask in the puppy's infectious lovableness. :)
