Geek Charming

by Robin Palmer
I surprisingly, actually liked this book, after I got past the fact that in the beginning Dylan is a snobby Beverly Hills girl who is selfcentered and only cares about fashion and popularity. In this book after a film geek named Josh saves Dylans bag from a water fountain, Dylan agrees to let josh film her for a documentary on popularity. At first they can't stand eachother. But then they start to get to know eachother, and we find out that Dylan isn't all that bad. Dylan also learns that popularity isn't everything. I liked how the book wasn't cliche by having Josh and Dylan go out at the end. I also like the moral. My only criticisms are that the ending seems a bit rushed at the end, and I am not sure that I like how Josh and Dylan are the extreme ends of the geek and popularity spectrum. They seem too extreme to be possible. I'm not sure whether I would recomend this book and to whom. I guess i would recomend it to people who like a fast read and dont mind teen drama.

35.0% | "I don't know what to think about this book. Palmer goes all out with her characters. Dylan is your stereotypical Beverly Hills girl who is a drama queen, selfish, and all about her image. While she is well developed it gets to be annoying to be stuck in her head for half of the chapters. The other character, Josh isn't so bad he is a film geek, and is more interesting to read about." |
