Currently Thinking
Love is never ugly.
But sometimes tag lines are gay.
God this book was annoying. First of all the main character just got on my nerves. He had more of a personality when he WASN'T the beast. And then the girl comes into it and she doesn't got much going for her either. Also, Kyle (the guy) thinks WAY TOO MUCH. Guys don't think that much, their fairly simple. he'd just wonder a couple things then go by impulse.
The other thing that pissed me off wasn't the author's fault (I assume) but i am angry about was the inconsistency between the book and cover. I get it's the movie poster but the point is that he's a hideous monster that can't be loved, not a cancer patient. And plus he's all fury and wolf/bear/monstery, why does the movie version have him as just a bald guy with silver piercings and tattoos? That's not a freakin' monster! I've seen guys worse than that pass me on the street! And the girl doesn't have red hair and freckles and all that. It seems like hypocrisy that the book is about looking at inner beauty but the movie guys want the characters to look relatively normal. GAY! And if the author reads these reviews, I want you to know that I was not aiming this segment at you, but at shallow movie makers.
And then there's a lot of stuff not addressed.
-What happened to the mermaid? If she died that's pretty depressing.

-Not really sure when Kyle had time to go to the chatroom. Or whether he's telling his whole story to the group or it's just for our benefit.
-(view spoiler)
Moving on.
Good Points
The witch. That's about it. She was my favorite character and she wasn't even in it that much. She doesn't compromise her personality once Kyle becomes an alright guy. I liked that a lot. I liked that while Kyle was in school, the author used a lot of modern slang, that made it feel a lot more real. I liked Will too but he seemed kind of uppity when he was first introduced. I get the blind thing but did he have to yell at Kyle for touching him? I didn't get that part. I also liked the chatroom thing. That was really funny. But (and I desperately want this question answered) Who was Grizzlyguy?!?! I know I know the story, I just can't remember it!!!
Characters of Interest
Kyle Kingsbury (later to change his name) - Hotty, girls walk into lockers, lady killer boy at school. He's the ultimate perfection, and a total ass about it. Dad's a news anchor and will only accept perfection. He's happy with being the jerk/idol boy till he pisses off a witch. Now he has to get someone to like him for his personality before he's stuck forever.
Lindy somethingsomething (I couldn't find her name) - Main squeeze of hte main character. For all intents and purposes, she's Beauty to Kyle's Beast. (Another thing I liked is that she's totally plain looking. Good addition)
Will Fratalli Apperantly he's italian, who knew! Tutor to Kyle when he's isolated from society. Will's snarky, sarcastic, and loves books. He also has a dog. He's also single, ladies.
Magda - Last name not revealed. I'm going to assume Mexican cause she talks about her country like that and her english isn't that good. Pretty cool character, but she's not in it a lot.
Witch - Bad ass witch girl named Kendra. I loved her. Unfortunately she wasn't in it much.
Departing Thought
Kyle changes his name to Adrian because it means 'dark one'. I get the changing the name thing, I really do. I wasn't a big fan of hte name Kyle. But did he have to change it to something so gay? I mean, it sounds like a girls name. And only a girl author would give that name to a guy. That's what made me kind of fall out of the story. I just couldn't believe he couldn't find another name that meant 'dark' or something along those lines.
Closing Quote
(There's a huge thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Guess who's up and find's who else up too. and then guess what they watch on tv.)
It was the scene with Westley, a pirate, has challenged the killer, Vizzini to a battle of wits.
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!" Vizzini said onscreen. "...Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"
(That's right, my favorite quote from this book is actually a quote from a movie. Bet ya didn't see that coming!)

I disagree with you :DNevermind that though- I thought it was good of you to include positives from the book, unlike some other reviewers I could mention. The only thing is: 1. Adrian is really not a girly name. I know many manly men who possess that name.
2. Your opening paragraph wasn't one that people tend to take seriously. People are also unlikely to take to your repetitive use of the word "gay" being used as a negative description.
