Very chic 1930s setting, love Poirot's dryness/pomposity, Linnet & Jacqueline present two interesting feminine "types." The murder was cleverly set up by Christie (of course!), although you have a nagging sense of someone who has to be culpable well before the turn.

Was just as good for a marriage-and-class kind of a study as a satisfying mystery. Also, I very much prefer a good clean "shot in the head and you're done" kind of a story than the rather extravagant stuff that gets published nowadays.

This would make a very good period movie, I think. And with all the interest in Egypt, you'll learn some geography!
