These books are excellent, and for a long running series do not disappoint. I love seeing Maisie's character grow and develop over the course of these novels. This book doesn't really include much of Maisie's personal life - the one sub-plot doesn't really go anywhere. I find her reaction to teaching interesting, and wonder if it's something she'll pursue in the future.

To me the mystery really doesn't take the foreground, and is not the strongest element of the plot.

I also really enjoy the historical aspect of these novels and with it now being the 1930s and the looming Hitler threat find the characters thoughts very interesting.
