I can definitely see why people are comparing this book to the Hunger Games trilogy - both "feel" very similar. Both are gripping reads about worlds in which the people in power definitely do not have everyone's best interests in mind. Both have strong female protagonists. Both have romantic subplots. Both are extremely violent at times. I thought Divergent was definitely its own book though.

I wasn't immediately grabbed with this book the way I was with The Hunger Games, but by the time I got to the middle of the book, I couldn't put it down; I had to find out what happened. I'll also say that I'm enjoying the romance in Divergent far more than I enjoyed the love triangle in the Hunger Games trilogy, maybe because, at least thus far, it's not a triangle.

I look forward to the next book!
