macy was devastated when her father died. she gave up running, her passion, isolated herself from her friends. she has a dull summer ahead of her. her boyfriend is eaving fr cammp. macy is filled with stress and pressure over studying for her Sats and helping out her mom's business until she met wes. a guy who brought her through life andd got her to ook forward to life in a different way. macy would cause youu to feel a rush of sympathy. i was interested by seeing charcter go through a loss, and how that affected the way she viewed the world. she deals with her fear by controling as much as she can: her appearance, behavior, how others percieve her. she narrows her life, shutting out everything that could possibly be a risk to her. at the end, she understand th fact that she doesn't have o be perfect, people would accept her if she isn't. she starts to realize this with the help of Wes, she come to appreciate who she is.
