Although this book didn't have quite the same emotional impact as Sabine, I was more than thrilled with Kisri's story. Kisri is strong and sweetly innocent about the ways of men but she longs to be able to make the choice as to who she gives herself to. She wants someone strong enough to challenge her and win. Someone who won't be intimidated by her cousin's title or driven by greed to possess her.

Kisri and Ennon's relationship is intriguing. He's fiercely attracted to her yet he doesn't want to betray his High Lord's trust. She's finally found someone who she knows has the ability to take her, yet she's unsure of her own allure. Their agreement (for lack of a better word) to enter into a purely sexual relationship is sexy and sweet. The more Kisri learns under his tutelage, the more she realizes that Ennon is one of the few men who will ever accept her without trying to break her spirit.

Wonderfully written and sweet without ever dipping into sappy, Kisri's story is one that will leave you with a smile on your face. This is one happily-ever-after you won't want to miss.
