it was amazing

I started this book expecting a nice light read of a novel that I could read at the same time of taking two college classes. From the first pages though I felt closer to the characters than in many novels I've read and I had to keep reminding myself that it was in fact a novel and not a nonfiction book. What started out as a simple story about a grandmother and granddaughter getting to know each other and spending time with each other starts turning into a story about their relationship and the secrets of their past and present lives. It starts by uncovering one secret that leads to another, and another. It reveals these secrets in such a natural way that it feels like you have entered the lives of this family and are a close neighbor or distant relative watching it all unfold. Great book! I loved it and it may become one of those books that I read again and again.
