FINALLY!!
How much can I rave about these books? The storytelling is so engrossing, the worldbuilding super immersive, and the characters pull all the stellar elements together in a series that truly defines epic fantasy. You want to KNOW these characters, you want to see them interact, and you definitely want to go on a journey with them.
After reading a lot of paperback UF novels, I felt so pleased that this book provided what felt like 4 books-worth of story and development and wonderfulness for the price. If you are a fantasy fan and haven't read this series, please try it, because you will LOVE IT.

I tried to read the first book of this series but it was just plain awful. The Mary Sue factor was way too much for me to get over.
I just finished this tonight and I wasn't disappointing in the least. It is a fantastic continuation of the first book. The characters are beautifully developed.
Accusations of "Mary Sue" in the first part should be mitigated by the fact that it's essentially the main character's self-fan-fiction. The joys of the unreliable narrator.
My cousin, who turned me on (awkward way to begin a sentence, but I'm running with it) to the first book, told me that reviews of this one have been rather lukewarm. I don't know much beyond that. Perhaps, like me, people have a hard time with the pacing? Despite how much I loved the first book, at times, I remember impatiently waiting for the plot to get moving, but it kind of rolls along at a lackadaisical pace. Maybe I'm just too used to Jim Butcher's breakneck pacing and cliffhangers.
I pretty much spend my days telling everyone to read these books. It makes me happy to share it with as many people as I can
Oh man, this book made me want an Elodin spinoff or SOMETHING. He's delightful. But I agree, 2nd book did not disappoint AT ALL.
The only series I have read that is more engrossing, satisfying, and addictive is A Song of Fire and Ice.
Epic fantasy's challenge is the reader is committing to days if not weeks to complete it.It boggles the mind when I often witness reviewers giving a 1 or 2 star to authors like Patrick Rothfuss or epic series like Wheel of Time, then give five stars to Harry Potter. Huh? Eragon. What?
Its refreshing to see Felicia find time to read, but to share her reading habits with her fans.
p.s. Are you going to level up a monk next expansion?
is there any other book that's even close to this series? GRRM is good in other ways, Sanderson is just as good but in a different way, no other book or series can scratch the itch like Rothfuss does. Or do they, anyone have any suggestions?
Can agree with this full-heartedly. I just finished this book and although it measured over 1100 pages (on my Nook), I just wished it was even longer.Great story & can't wait for the next one!
