I was starting to think I must have imagined reading good Apple Scholastic books, but this one renewed my faith and made me cry! Thoughtful and likeable and gently told. I'll be keeping this one :)

Sally What's it actually about? Your shelves tell more than the summary!

Tara Calaby The protagonist and her brother have trouble fitting in in Hawaii, and their grandmother is ill, her but then they rescue a feral cat and start to become friends with a local boy who has a difficult home life and things improve except for when they're hideously sad ;)

Put it on your to-borrow list :D
