Last Man Standing
by David Baldacci
by David Baldacci
** spoiler alert **
I checked this book out because I'd heard David Baldacci speak and he was really entertaining. This is not my usual type of book, but I can see why people like Baldacci's stuff. It was interesting and full of action. The main character was likeable and I wanted to know what happened next. It was a little dark for me and I wished there was less swearing. (But what are you going to do with gangsters and murderers as characters?) If a few less people had been snuffed out, that would have been okay too.
And did I just miss something--I don't recall Baldacci ever explaining why the bad guys had switched Kevin and were holding him hostage. The book ended and I was like . . . wait, what had they been planning on doing with him and how did they know to switch him anyway? And why did the sniper kill the one FBI agent? It seemed a bit bizarre.
Maybe villains don't actually give their actions all that much thought . . .
