I really enjoyed this book. It made me contemplate my relationship with animals from a different perspective. I don't think I am going to change how I live though after reading this book. I am, like the author puts it a hypocrite when it comes to my relationship with animals. I love my cat and would be devastated if any harm came to her but will eat a hamburger (I have a great image of her sitting beside the book).

A concept I found really interesting was the author's argument that he would rather be a fighting Game Cock than a Cobb 500. I agree with him too!

It's a great read if you love animals because the author's writing is colloquial enough to maintain a casual reader's attention but scientific enough to feel the weight behind the arguments.
